Kenmare Resources plc ("Kenmare" or "the Company")

                      Kenmare Completes Plant Dismantling

Kenmare Resources plc announced today that it has completed the dismantling at
Beenup in Western Australia of its Mineral Separation Plant purchased from BHP
for use at the Moma Titanium Minerals Project. The process of transporting the
plant to the port of Bunbury for onward transport to Mozambique is well under
way and is expected to be completed by 15 December. The plant is a key component
of project implementation at Kenmare's Moma Project. The dismantling contract
was successfully implemented by Ryad Engineering under Kenmare supervision.

Separately, Kenmare is at an advanced stage in its negotiations with a main
contractor for the full development contract on the Moma Project. These
negotiations are progressing well and Kenmare expects to be able to sign the
contract early in the first quarter of 2004. The process of securing project
financing is also proceeding and it is intended that the Lender institutions
will seek remaining approvals shortly after the finalisation of the fixed price
development contract.
