Dr. Phil McGraw of the popular daytime talk show, Dr. Phil,
introduced his longtime doctor of chiropractic, Dr. Fabrizio
Mancini, on yesterday’s episode, which airs on more than 200
television stations across the U.S. and in more than 40 countries
worldwide. Dr. Phil received chiropractic care from Dr. Mancini for
years while he lived in the Dallas, Texas area.

Dr. Mancini is the author of the new book The Power of
Self-Healing: Unlock Your Natural Healing Potential in 21 Days! and
president of Dallas-based Parker University, a university focused
on health sciences, including chiropractic. Parker recently
announced a broadly expanded curriculum that seeks to help the
transition from ‘sick’ care to ‘wellness’ and preventive health
care.
In explaining Mancini’s care, Dr. Phil emphasized that his
chiropractor didn’t just treat his back, which is a common
misconception, but helped him with his overall health physically,
mentally and spiritually. Dr. Phil has continued to receive regular
chiropractic care from Parker University alumnus, Dr. Patrick
DeFazio, in Los Angeles.
A chiropractic adjustment boosts the immune system, promotes the
nervous system to function better, restores motion and provides the
body with a more effective means to self-heal, says Dr. Mancini.
The spine houses the nervous system, which is the master system
that controls the body. The nervous system is a two-way
communication pathway from the body to the brain.
A four-year study, Clinical and Cost Outcomes of an Integrative
Medicine IPA, from the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological
Therapeutics, showed that patients who went to chiropractors as
their primary care providers had 43 percent decrease in hospital
admissions, 52 percent reductions in pharmaceutical costs and 43
percent fewer outpatient surgeries and procedures.
“The difference between chiropractic and the 'sick care system'
in the U.S. is that we assume the patient is well and not sick,”
said Dr. Mancini. “We also deal with the cause of an illness rather
than just managing symptoms. The only way to fulfill your life
potential is to fulfill your health potential.”
Dr. Mancini presented concepts of wellness and how chiropractic
integrates into a healthy lifestyle. He also spoke about his book,
which shares the secrets to unlocking the body’s self-healing
powers in a 21-day program. The book reflects research discoveries
and empirical findings that have emerged to support breakthrough,
non-drug, non-invasive self-healing technologies.
“Our bodies are self-healing and self-regulating, so that means
that we are already born to heal naturally,” said Dr. Mancini.
This same concept is taught at Parker University to future
chiropractors who are preparing to make a difference in the health
care realm. As the benefits of chiropractic become more known to
the public, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the
demand for chiropractors is extremely positive, with a 20 percent
increase between 2008 and 2018—which is much faster than the
national average.
