Foxwoods Resort Casino® today reported that its slot revenue for February 2012 was $50.6 million, a decline of slightly less than 1.0 percent from the $51.1 million total a year ago. Handle in February this year was $600.7 million, up $3.6 million from the same period last year.

“The results reflect positively on the new marketing and branding initiatives we announced in the middle of February, including our popular 20th Anniversary promotions,” said Foxwoods President & CEO Scott C. Butera. “We are using a more targeted model to build and retain a profitable customer base. So as revenues stabilize, we are experiencing strong improvements on the bottom line.”

The new initiatives that Foxwoods announced on February 15th included a new retail shopping development for the property, a revitalized brand marketing campaign, and an improved loyalty incentive program … all aimed at heightening Foxwoods’ appeal to regional consumers and national and international events planners.

The Casino contributed $13.8 million to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund based on February 2012 revenue. Since opening in 1992, Foxwoods has made a cumulative contribution to the state of Connecticut in excess of $3.3 billion.
