KBR (KBR) said Wednesday that it got a contract from ConocoPhillips (COP) and the Saudi Arabian Oil Co. to do work on the 400,000-barrels-a-day Yanbu refinery project.

The Houston-based construction and services giant said it would provide engineering and procurement services for the utilities package, interconnecting systems and pipe racks at the refinery project, a joint venture between Conoco and the Saudi oil giant.

KBR conducted front-end engineering and design work for the Yanbu project. The refinery, located in Saudi Arabia, is currently in the tendering process for the final investment decision by Conoco and Saudi Aramco. The final sanctioning of the project is expected to occur in 2010, Houston-based ConocoPhillips has said.
