Harris Corporation and executive chairman of MILCOM 2007. "MILCOM
exists to support our military. Sometimes that takes the form of
technological advancements, but it also comes in the form of this
donation, which will help the USO-Metro extend a touch of home to
our men and women in uniform." "The USO provides a visible way in
which the American public can support our troops, and I am pleased
on behalf of AFCEA International and IEEE, the co-sponsors of this
conference, to make this donation," said Kent Schneider, president
and CEO, AFCEA International. "The evening was about honoring the
service of our nation's troops and this donation affirms MILCOM's
commitment to honoring that service." The check was presented to
Elaine Rogers, president of the USO of Metropolitan Washington. "I
am proud to accept this generous donation on behalf of the USO of
Metropolitan Washington. This is a testament to the commitment that
Harris Corporation and MILCOM have made to our military and their

injured service personnel and their families at Walter Reed Army
Medical Center and Bethesda National Naval Medical Center, airport
lounges and family support centers, as well as provide emergency
housing and food assistance for those experiencing a financial
