/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JDSU, a leader in optical innovation,
will showcase a variety of new developments within its Commercial
Lasers product portfolio at booth # B3.365 at the LASER 2007 World
of Photonics show in Munich, Germany from June 18-21, 2007. Product
demonstrations will include: FCD488 - JDSU's recently introduced
FCD488, a blue solid state laser ideally suited for
bio-instrumentation, medical imaging, and semiconductor inspection
applications, will make its European debut at LASER 2007.
Leveraging JDSU's telecom manufacturing strength, the FCD488 offers
customers a unique and industry leading combination of compactness,
low heat load, robustness, and the option of fiber delivery.
"Customers have quickly recognized the competitive benefits offered
by this new and innovative product, and we are already experiencing
strong demand for FCD488 in Europe," said Len Marabella, director
of marketing for JDSU's commercial lasers product group. Q Series -
JDSU's Q Series lasers provide precise, high average power output
at 355 of 532 nm. JDSU's unique design results in outstanding
pulse-to-pulse energy stability and mode quality that are required
by high precision micro-electronics and semiconductor applications.
With the tightest possible process tolerances, JDSU's Q Series
lasers are ideal for micromachining and other material processing
applications. PFL - JDSU will demonstrate a new 10W pulsed fiber
laser prototype that capitalizes on JDSU's highly reliable single
emitter diode lasers and fiber laser experience. With high peak
power and excellent mode quality and reliability, this developing
product targets marking and material process applications. In
addition, JDSU laser experts will offer several presentations
during the show, including: "Advancements in Reliable, High Power,
Single-Emitter Diode Lasers" Tuesday, June 19, 13:30, Exhibit Hall
B2 JDSU's Franck Leibreich will outline state-of-the-art
requirements for high power, near infrared (800nm - 1000nm)
single-emitter diode lasers and diode bars. This session will
include an overview of recent progress towards lasers with very
high power and efficiency. "Optoelectronic Devices for Optical
Communications Systems" Tuesday, June 19, 9:15, Room 21,
International Congress Centre, Munich (as part of LASER 2007 -
European Optical Society (EOS) Conference) JDSU's Ed Murphy will
discuss how optical device technology is evolving to support the
drive towards higher transmission rates, deployment of fiber deeper
into the access space, and the demand for network agility in long
haul and metro networks. For more information on JDSU's commercial
