Christopher Rogers, currently Group Finance Director of the Woolworths Group is
to be appointed Finance Director of Whitbread PLC.  He will leave after the
announcement of the full year results at the end of March 2005.

Trevor Bish-Jones, Woolworths Group CEO said, "We wish Chris every success in
his new position.  He has done an excellent job here at Woolworths and Whitbread
offers him a great opportunity to develop further his career. We have started
the search process for his successor."
