Early production stage hydrogen generation company AlumiFuel Power Corporation (OTCBB: AFPW) (the "Company"), through its U.S operating subsidiary, AlumiFuel Power Technologies, Inc., announced today that its unique Portable Balloon Inflation System (PBIS) technology generated significant interest at the 93rd annual American Meteorological Society (AMS) Meeting in Austin, Texas, January 7-10, 2013.

The annual AMS Meeting is the largest and most important weather-related conference in the U.S. It brings together all of the key players in the meteorological field from around the world, including systems integrators, instrumentation and sensor manufacturers, environmental engineering firms, weather information research and analysis organizations, government users, and commercial customers.

Mr. Ed Figelman, AlumiFuel Power's PBIS marketing lead, represented the Company at the Meeting, just as he did at the Meteorological Technology World Expo 2012 in Brussels, Belgium, October 16-18, 2012 (see AFPW news release of November 19, 2012). According to Mr. Figelman, exhibiting at both shows accelerated the market acceptance process for AlumiFuel Power's PBIS products; he reported that the Company's lift gas technology is now on many more radar screens of military and civil government meteorological users worldwide. Mr. Figelman discussed AlumiFuel technology with many of the world's primary radiosonde (weather balloon instrumentation package) manufacturers, who have a vested interest in new lift gas systems that would maintain or increase the number of weather balloon launches, as end-users are faced with continuing logistical, price, and availability concerns related to lift gas.

At the AMS Meeting, AlumiFuel PBIS technology and products drew serious interest from commercial entities representing the Korean, Canadian, Brazilian, Argentinean, Mexican, and Central American markets, among others. Mr. Figelman also had continuing discussions with key US players, including National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Weather Service representatives, and personnel from the Air Force Special Operations Command, the first customer for the PBIS-2000. AlumiFuel Power recently completed modifications to the PBIS-2000 as requested by the customer, and shipped the unit back to the Air Force (see AFPW news release of January 8, 2013).

The current weather balloon lift gas market is estimated to be $200 million per year, and encompasses military as well as civil government meteorological users worldwide. Traditionally, helium has been used as the primary lift gas for weather balloons, but with the increasing scarcity and cost of helium, users are rapidly switching to hydrogen and the Company's PBIS family is far more mobile, safe, and cost effective than other on-site hydrogen generation systems. After purchasing any unit of the PBIS family, typical customers would continue to purchase replacement cartridges to launch up to 700 balloons per unit each year (up to 4,200 cartridges).

Mr. David Cade, President & CEO of AlumiFuel Power Technologies, Inc., said: "We are very pleased over the increased visibility of our PBIS technology and products within the global meteorological community, and intend to move forward aggressively in penetrating this market."

About AlumiFuel Power Corporation AlumiFuel Power Corporation, through its U.S. operating subsidiary, AlumiFuel Power Technologies, Inc., is an early production stage alternative energy company that generates hydrogen gas and heat through the chemical reaction of aluminum, water, and proprietary additives. This technology is ideally suited for multiple applications requiring on-site, on-demand fuel sources, serving National Security and commercial customers. The Company's hydrogen generation feeds fuel cells for backup and portable power, provides lift gas for weather balloons, and can replace costly, hard-to-handle and high pressure K-Cylinders. Its hydrogen/heat output is also being designed and developed to power fuel cell-based and turbine-based undersea propulsion and auxiliary power systems. The Company has significant differentiators in performance, adaptability, safety and cost-effectiveness in its target market applications, with no external power required and no toxic chemicals or by-products.
