Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) Thursday reported third-quarter revenue that topped analysts' estimates.

Revenue came to $27.25 billion, the company said, besting the $24.6 billion analysts were targeting.

The San Antonio, Texas-based refiner posted a quarterly profit of $609 million, or $1.48 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet expected net income of $626 million, or $1.44 a share.
