Datran Media, A New York based digital marketing technology company, announced today that Patrick Vogt, chairman and CEO of Datran Media, will be speaking at a Partner's Luncheon at the TED 2011 "The Rediscovery of Wonder" conference. The TED conference will be held February 28-March 4, 2011 in Long Beach, California. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 26 years ago, TED has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple global initiatives.

The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak about some of the most complex and pressing issues of our day. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action. The TED audience provides support for TED Prize winners to help drive positive change for future generations.

The TED 2011 luncheon event, titled "The Evolution of Modern Leadership," will be a panel discussion addressing the changing role of leadership in today's world. The TED luncheon panelists include Ishmael Beah, author of "A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier," Jeffrey Swartz, CEO Timberland, and Patrick Vogt, chairman and CEO of Datran Media.

Ishmael Beah, Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, said, "I'm looking forward to speaking to the TED audience about the work I am doing with the Clinton Global Initiative LEAD project. This is a pilot program called 'Rethink Refugees,' which brings together young leaders to create innovative solutions to deeply entrenched refugee camp problems in order to transform the lives of more than 44 million displaced people across the globe. It's important to recognize that we all have the power to be leaders if we take the initiative."

"I'm pleased to join this important discussion about The Evolution of Modern Leadership at the TED 2011 event," said Jeffrey Swartz, CEO of Timberland. "More and more, companies are recognizing their responsibility toward the broader needs of society, including environmental stewardship. This is creating a change in the culture of business. TED is the perfect venue to discuss the new role of business leadership in a hyper-connected, socially-conscious world."

"We are proud to be involved with the TED community, and I look forward to participating in this thought-provoking and exciting event," said Patrick Vogt, chairman and CEO of Datran Media. "The topic is timely, as the economic collapse has shown us that leadership must be reinvented around the core principles of integrity, sustainability, and transparency. These are transcendent themes which will radically transform the way we lead in business. We value the work of esteemed TED curator Chris Anderson, and look forward to being a part of this important event."

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 26 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world's leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Two major TED events are held each year: The TED Conference takes place every spring in Long Beach, California (along with a parallel conference, TEDActive, in Palm Springs), and TEDGlobal is held each summer in Edinburgh, Scotland.

TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TEDTalks are posted daily; the new TED Conversations, enabling broad conversations among TED fans; and the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any TEDTalk to be translated by volunteers worldwide.

TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into action; TEDx, which offers individuals or groups a way to host local, self-organized events around the world; and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

TED2011, "The Rediscovery of Wonder," will be held February 28-March 4, 2011, in Long Beach, California, along with the TEDActive simulcast in Palm Springs, California. TEDGlobal 2011, "The Stuff of Life," will be held July 11-15, 2011, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
