The share owners of Protective Life Corporation (NYSE: PL) held their annual meeting yesterday and elected the following eleven directors: James S. M. French, Thomas L. Hamby, John D. Johns, Vanessa Leonard, Charles�D. McCrary, John J. McMahon, Jr., Malcolm Portera, C. Dowd Ritter, William A. Terry, W.�Michael Warren, Jr. and Vanessa Wilson. Immediately following the share owners� meeting, the Board of Directors met and declared a quarterly dividend of $0.235 per share, representing a 4.4% increase over the previous quarterly dividend. The Corporation�s Board of Directors declared the quarterly dividend to be paid June 2, 2008, to share owners of record at the close of business on May 16, 2008.
