Indianapolis-area filming for Money Farm will take place 9:30 a.m.
to noon, Wednesday, May 19, at Conner Prairie in Noblesville. The
media is invited to attend the filming, and should report to the
security desk on the second floor of Conner Prairie's main building
near restaurant. The Money Farm segment will be produced by Chicago
Public Television (WTTW) for airing on PBS stations across the
nation, including Indiana public television stations WFYI in
Indianapolis and WFWA in Fort Wayne. "If you don't learn to manage
your money, your money will manage you. That's a powerful lesson
for anyone, especially kids," said Dennis Bassett, CEO of Bank One
Indiana. "It's also the reason Bank One created Money Farm." The
program's unique and simple style -- elementary school students
help teach lessons about money -- has earned recognition within the
television community and has been nominated for a regional Emmy
award in the Midwest for outstanding children's programming. The
show consists of 90- to 105-second segments that teach kids about
money and money management. Money Farm originated on Chicago's PBS
affiliate WTTW. Now, it can be seen on other PBS affiliates,
including markets where Bank One does business: Baton Rouge, La.,
Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Ft. Wayne, Ind.,
Grand Rapids, Mich., Houston, Indianapolis, Lehigh Valley, Pa.,
Lexington, Ky., New Orleans, Phoenix/Tempe, and Portales, New
Mexico. Money Farm was created and funded through a grant from the
Bank One Foundation. The series was spurred by Bank One's interest
in creating a program that could address the issues of supporting
youth through education and economic empowerment and
self-sufficiency. Bank One donated more than $40 million this year
in the 15 states where the bank does business. For more information
