O-I CEO To Undergo Surgical Procedure

TOLEDO, Ohio, July 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Owens-Illinois,
Inc. (NYSE:OI) today announced that Chairman and CEO Steve
McCracken has opted for surgery to remove a small, malignant
stomach tumor which was discovered in its early stages. The surgery
will be conducted at the Cleveland Clinic. (Logo:

McCracken is expected to require approximately eight weeks for
surgery and recovery. In the interim, James Baehren, senior vice
president, chief administrative officer and general counsel, will
add the interim leadership duties of fulfilling the stated
strategies and executing against the core priorities of the firm.
