KBR (NYSE: KBR) today announced that it has been awarded a
contract by the Tourist Development and Investment Company (TDIC),
a master developer of tourism, cultural and residential
destinations in Abu Dhabi, to provide logistics consultancy
services to support the development of Sir Bani Yas island as part
of the Desert Islands projects.
Desert Islands will be one of the world’s largest
environmentally-friendly island tourism destinations. This
nature-based destination consists of a group of natural islands off
the coast of Abu Dhabi’s Western Region.
At the heart of the Desert Islands is the 87 km² Sir Bani Yas

than 90% of the island is being dedicated to nature and
wildlife.
KBR will provide the logistics consultancy and technical
expertise to manage the supply of materials, vehicles, marine
transportation and personnel for the project.
“This project will build on our previous successes on
large-scale developments in the region, and utilize our global
expertise and resources, overlaid with our sophisticated systems
and processes,” said Colin Elliott, President, KBR Infrastructure
and Minerals. “KBR looks forward to providing the client high
quality service, with accountability, integrity and discipline at
the heart of our day-to-day operations.”
