Lone Star Gold, Inc. (OTCBB: LSTG) announced yesterday that they have agreed to sign a definitive agreement to acquire an undivided 65% interest in the San Antonio del Potrero mine tailings project in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Mexico has recently been in the midst of gold exploration resurgence. According with recent geological surveys 2/3 of Mexico possesses ore deposits, and due to advancing technology, new deposits are turning up frequently, with Chihuahua being an area of concentration. Major companies like Gold Corp (NYSE: GG), Yamana Gold (NYSE: AUY) and AuRico Gold (NYSE: AUQ) all have interests in areas near Lone Star Gold in Mexico.

Lone Star's Mexico project is located in the State of Chihuahua, which is one of the largest producing states in Mexico.
