(NYSE: UAN), a master limited partnership and manufacturer of
ammonia and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solution fertilizer
products, announced today that Randal
Maffett has been named as executive vice president of
business development for the partnership's general partner, CVR GP,
LLC.

Based at CVR Partners' headquarters in Sugar Land, Texas, Maffett is responsible for
developing the company's corporate strategies and new business
opportunities, as well as managing mergers and acquisitions.
Maffett reports to Byron Kelley,
president and chief executive officer of CVR GP.
"Randy's extensive background in pursuing growth and other
business opportunities in the energy industry is a great fit for
CVR Partners," said Kelley. "Our objective is to grow the company,
and his broad development experience will be a great complement to
our management team."
Maffett has more than 30 years of experience in the energy
industry, most recently serving as president and chief executive
officer of Sendero Capital Partners, Inc., a private equity firm in
Kingwood, Texas, that operates and
invests in assets and companies in various sectors of the energy
industry.
From 2002 to 2004, Maffett was vice president of corporate
development for RWE Trading Americas Inc., an international energy
trading company based in Houston.
Prior to RWE Trading Americas, Maffett served in progressive
management positions for Enron Corp., such as vice president for
Enron International, Enron Global Markets and Enron North America.
Maffett received a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering
from Louisiana State University.
