Spain's Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BBV) is interested in buying CatalunyaCaixa, which was recently intervened by the Bank of Spain and now holds 90% of the financial entity, reports El Mundo in its Tuesday Internet edition, citing unidentified financial sources.

According to sources cited by the newspaper, CatalunyaCaixa is already in talks with two potential buyers and there are no signs of a BBVA takeover.
