Wilshire Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”), the holding company for Wilshire State Bank (the “Bank”), announced on August 14, 2009 that Gapsu Kim resigned from the Board of Directors of the Company and from the Board of Directors of the Bank.  Mr. Kim was a Class I director and his resignation was effective August 14, 2009.  Mr. Kim has informed the Company that he resigned for personal reasons and that his resignation is not due to any disagreement with the Company or with the Bank.

The Company’s press releases related to Mr. Kim’s resignation from its Board of Directors is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Form 8-K and are incorporated by reference herein.
