UMB Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: UMBF) is pleased to announce DeAnna Basler has joined the company as its new executive vice president of Private Client Services and will also serve as president and CEO of UMB Scout Brokerage Services, Inc. The merging of the two divisions allows UMB to deliver focused and comprehensive deposit, lending and credit products through its Private Banking division. "DeAnna is a well-respected leader in the asset management industry and is the person we wanted to lead our newly aligned Private Client and Brokerage divisions...we are extremely pleased she will be joining us," said Peter deSilva, president and chief operating officer of UMB Financial Corporation. "Her 20 years at several prestigious firms in the asset management industry gives us a qualified, experienced leader who will strengthen our asset management division and improve the quality of service we provide our customers." Basler most recently worked for J.P. Morgan Asset Management in New York, where she was managing director and had national account management responsibility for their broker/dealer division. Prior to that, she was managing director for UBS Global Asset Management and led their third-party distribution. She also has held senior positions at American Century and Oppenheimer Capital. Basler's position at UMB is effective September 1, 2005. She will report to Joe Gazzoli, executive vice president of UMB Asset Management.
