Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:SWKS), an innovator of high
performance analog and mixed signal semiconductors enabling mobile
connectivity, today unveiled the first of several forthcoming
direct demodulators for use in various wireless communication
applications, including WiMAX and cellular infrastructure. The
SKY73012, which is ideal for quadrature demodulation of RF
waveforms from 400 to 3900 MHz, delivers breakthrough simplicity,
allowing customers to integrate a single solution across an entire
spectrum of radios rather than requiring multiple demodulators for
various frequency ranges. By eliminating intermediate frequency
stages of the receiver, our solution offers cellular infrastructure
designers an unprecedented degree of design flexibility, said Sean
Martin, senior director of Linear Products at Skyworks. At the
same time, given Skyworks ability to deliver high levels of analog
integration, we are able to significantly reduce costs for high
performance receivers with demanding linearity requirements. Our
demodulator is yet another example of our success with leveraging
our core analog and RF strengths across a wide range of
applications to serve new markets and meet customer needs.
Skyworks launched its Linear Products business to aggressively
leverage the companys core RF and analog product portfolio and
modeling capabilities, along with its strong catalog sales channels
and specialized rep and distributor networks, in non-handset
applications. Thus far, Skyworks has secured several strategic
design wins in the infrastructure, broadband, automotive and
industrial markets. About the SKY73012 The SKY73012 is an
integrated, broadband, high-dynamic range quadrature demodulator
with outputs that are differential and can be directly connected to
most commonly available analog to digital (A/D) converters. It is
also an ideal solution for CDMA, UMTS, GSM/GPRS receivers, WiMAX
(IEEE 802.16) radios, RFID readers, power amplifier (PA)
feedback/linearization, wireless local loops (WLLs), and wireless
local area networks (WLANs). The high dynamic range and second
order input intercept point (IIP2) and IIP3 value of the SKY73012
make it ideal for use in direct conversion and low intermediate
frequency (IF) receivers. The device features integrated LO balun
and amplifier, differential IF output, on-chip in-phase and
quadrature (I/Q) phase splitter, and a single +3.0 volt (V) supply.
The SKY73012 is also manufactured in lead (Pb)-free, restriction of
hazardous substances (RoHS)-compliant packaging. Pricing and
Availability The SKY73012 is currently available and in volume
production. For customized pricing, please contact

include, but are not limited to: global economic and market
conditions, such as the cyclical nature of the semiconductor
industry and the markets addressed by our, and our customers',
products; our ability to develop, manufacture and market innovative
products in a highly price competitive and rapidly changing
technological environment; fluctuations in our manufacturing yields
due to our complex and specialized manufacturing processes;
fluctuations in the manufacturing yields of our third party
semiconductor foundries and other problems or delays in the
fabrication, assembly, testing or delivery of our products; the
availability and pricing of third party semiconductor foundry,
assembly and test capacity and raw materials; our ability to timely
and accurately predict market requirements and evolving industry
standards, and to identify opportunities in new markets; losses or
curtailments of purchases or payments from key customers, or the
timing of customer inventory adjustments; our reliance on a several
key customers for a large percentage of our sales; our ability to
rapidly develop new products and avoid product obsolescence; our
ability to retain, recruit and hire key executives, technical
personnel and other employees in the positions and numbers, with
the experience and capabilities, and at the compensation levels
needed to implement our business and product plans; lengthy product
development cycles that impact the timing of new product
