Raymond James Financial Selects RSA Security for Identity and Access Management RSA ClearTrust(R) web access management and RSA SecurID(R) two-factor authentication solutions centralize user identities and provide secure access to online resources BEDFORD, Mass., March 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- RSA Security Inc. today announced that Raymond James Financial Inc. has implemented a new identity and access management solution based on RSA ClearTrust(R) web access management and RSA SecurID(R) two-factor authentication. The RSA Security solution helps Raymond James reduce its administration costs by efficiently managing user identities, authentication policies and user privileges across multiple applications and domains, resulting in a better user experience and more secure access to confidential information. Raymond James, one of the largest global financial services firms with more than 2,100 offices worldwide, provides its enterprise user community with online access to account information, financial data and a variety of other web resources. With hundreds of back end systems, each with its own authentication process, Raymond James was looking for a way to streamline its application security processes and policy-based web access capabilities. After careful evaluation, Raymond James selected RSA ClearTrust software to centrally manage user identities, authentication policies and user privileges. The company uses the web access management solution to provide strict access control and provide a reduced sign-on requirement to users accessing the company's corporate portals, application servers and other protected web resources. "RSA ClearTrust software enables us to provide delegated administration, so we can turn to certain businessunits within the company and give them the ability to grant rights to specific applications and web resources," said Don Richmond, manager, Information Security, Raymond James Financial. "We are also now able to provide users a much better experience in accessing our resources, thereby allowing them to avoid the requirement of having to login separately to each system." RSA ClearTrust software provides native support for databases and directory servers, allowing Raymond James to leverage its existing user data, while providing seamless integration with the company's existing databases, web servers and applications. It also gives the company the flexibility to provide specialized entitlement processing as well as the ability to look at specific directory attributes, so that authorized company administrators can specify which individuals have access to certain applications. For more secure access, Raymond James uses the RSA SecurID two-factor authentication solution to provide a fast, simple and highly reliable way to verify an employee's identity before they are allowed to access the company's enterprise networks and operating systems. The RSA SecurID solution requires users to identify themselves with two unique factors - something they know, such as a PIN, and something they have, in this case, a token - before they are granted access. "Another reason we selected RSA Security was for its strong vision and next-generation architecture that will enable us to pull all of our identity and access management products into a single framework," said Richmond. "We're looking forward to managing both RSA SecurID software and RSA ClearTrust software through this centralized platform, making administration even simpler than it is now." "One of the greatest obstacles facing today's global enterprises involves efficiently and cost-effectively managing user identities, and ensuring appropriate access rights are granted in a timely, accurate fashion. To meet this challenge, companies need a solution that can integrate easily with existing applications and protocols," said John Worrall, vice president of worldwide marketing at RSA Security. "RSA Security identity and access management solutions provide the foundation for a dependable identity infrastructure, enabling organizations to cut identity administration costs, enhance user productivity, enable new business opportunities, and achieve security and compliance goals."
