Lam Research Corporation Appoints Abhi Talwalkar to Board of Directors

Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ: LRCX) today announced that Abhi Talwalkar has joined the company’s board of directors. Talwalkar is the CEO and president of LSI Corporation, a leading provider of silicon, systems and software technologies for the storage and networking markets. He also serves on the board of directors for LSI and the U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association.

“Abhi has extensive semiconductor industry experience and is a respected and proven leader in the industry,” said James W. Bagley, chairman of Lam Research. “He repositioned LSI around enabling digital content delivery and oversaw a multi-billion dollar merger, as well as other acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to becoming the LSI CEO and President, Talwalkar acted in several executive leadership roles at Intel. He was the corporate vice president and general manager of the digital enterprise group, the corporate vice president and general manager of the enterprise platform group, and served as vice president and general manager of other divisions within Intel.
