Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning are: H
& H Imports Inc. (OTCBB: HNHI), Crocs, Inc. (NASDAQ: CROX),
American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) and Atmel
Corporation (NASDAQ: ATML).
Yesterday after the markets closed, H & H Imports Inc.
(OTCBB: HNHI), which recently announced its intention to change its
name to IBC Global, Inc. ("IBC"), issued a press release announcing
that it has launched a 5 minute direct response television
commercial, or "Newsmercial™," for the Hydro Heel™ Sock System
product line. The Hydro Heel™ product, which can be viewed and
purchased at www.buyhydroheel.com, is a revolutionary "on the go"
pedicure system that alleviates dry feet and nagging cracks that
are experienced by millions of Americans.
A Newsmercial™ is a hybrid concept that combines the credibility
and investigative reporting of a news program with the impactful
sales techniques, product demonstrations and testimonials of an
infomercial. Each year the infomercial industry generates over 30
billion dollars. By combining these two proven mediums,
Newsmercials™ are exponentially more powerful in creating consumer
awareness, brand recognition, retail demand and sales.
Kevin Harrington, the Chairman of the Company, stated: "The
successful Newsmercial™ for the Hydro Heel Sock System is a
validation of our strategy of 'test before we invest.' I developed
the Newsmercial™ as a means to test market a product, with a
limited investment, and believe this innovative medium is gaining
momentum and is positioned to revolutionize the infomercial sales
format now and for years to come."
In connection with its Newsmercial™ activities, the Company has
hired Gayle Guyardo, a 17 year news veteran and former local NBC
news anchor who has a broad experience in everything from breaking
news to in-depth local coverage. Ms. Guyardo's Newsmercial™ program
segments on Access Gayle, www.accessgayle.com; it regularly airs
each week in the same time slot in the Tampa, FL market, at the end
of the 8 AM Sunday news hour on ABC affiliate, WFTS Channel 28.
After successful initial airings in Tampa, the shows are then aired
in other markets nationwide, to gain national exposure for the
featured products.
While testing the effectiveness of direct response to market the
product under the Hydro Heel™ Sock System logo, the Company was
engaged to bring the product line to the world's leading retail
chains and TV Shopping Networks. Additionally, several large
nationally recognized retail chains are negotiating to purchase
Hydro Heel™ for inclusion in the upcoming store assortments.
The stock closed yesterday at Nineteen cents a share.
