Professional beach volleyball tour and shoe manufacturer to remain partners for duration of 2009 season LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- AVP Pro Beach Volleyball and Crocs Inc. (NASDAQ:CROX) will part ways in 2010 after a longstanding partnership, it was announced today. Crocs has bought out the remainder of its contract with the domestic professional beach volleyball tour, but remains title sponsor of the AVP Tour through the end of the 2009 season, which ends September 26 in Glendale, Arizona. "Crocs has been a tremendous partner for our sport," said Jason Hodell, CEO, AVP Pro Beach Volleyball. "Their tour sponsorship fueled dramatic growth of beach volleyball, domestically and abroad. The sport simply would not be what it is today without them and we are grateful." AVP and Crocs first joined forces in 2006, when Crocs became the official footwear of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. As tour title sponsor, Crocs was able to link the identity of their unique lifestyle footwear to the beach lifestyle embodied by the AVP. "We are very proud of the great partnership we have had with the AVP over the last several years," said John Duerden, Crocs CEO. "We want to thank the AVP staff and players for embracing us as their title sponsor and being great ambassadors for the Crocs brand. We will miss being involved but will always have a fondness for the great years we have had as title sponsor." The AVP is in talks with several brands regarding 2010 tour sponsorship and beyond.
