iPass Achieves OPSEC Certification From Check Point Software
iPassConnect 3.0 Service Interface Seamlessly Integrates with Check
Point's Open Platform for Security (OPSEC) Framework REDWOOD
SHORES, Calif., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iPass Inc.
announced today that its award winning iPassConnect(TM) 3.0 service
interface has achieved OPSEC(TM) (Open Platform for Security)
certification from Check Point Software Technologies , the
worldwide leader in securing the Internet. OPSEC certification
ensures that Check Point VPN-1(R) SecureClient(TM) and VPN-1
SecuRemote(TM) seamlessly integrate with the iPassConnect 3.0
service interface, providing IT administrators with a one-click
security as well as an auto-teardown feature. The one-click
deployment allows remote users to establish a secure VPN connection
with a single set of user credentials from virtually any location
in the world. With the auto-teardown feature of iPassConnect, a
network administrator can better ensure the use of Check Point
VPN-1 SecureClient or VPN-1 SecuRemote by end users. Should a user
disable the VPN, iPassConnect will terminate, or tear down, the
Internet connection. iPass works to assure IT managers that their
end-users will have an easy- to-use and consistent interface across
multiple connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, dial-up
and ISDN access, available in more than 150 countries The
iPassConnect 3.0 service interface offers customers painless login,
simplified procedures to utilize Wi-Fi connections and lower total
cost of ownership. "By achieving OPSEC certification for our
iPassConnect 3.0 service interface, we have demonstrated our
commitment to work with Check Point to provide best-in-class
solutions for security and policy management," said Mary Tate,
director of technology alliances at iPass. "iPass has found that
simplicity encourages productivity, and the one-click
implementation makes it easy even for non-technical, remote users
to connect to the Internet and launch their Check Point VPN
clients. The auto-teardown feature gives the IT department the
added confidence that its VPN system is being used and its mobile
employees are complying with VPN policies." "IT administrators must
provide their remote employees with seamless connectivity to the
corporate network using VPNs, while maintaining the same levels of
security as those working on-site," said Upesh Patel, director,
business development, for Check Point Software Technologies. "The
integration between Check Point's market-leading VPN-1 remote
access solutions and the iPassConnect 3.0 service interface
provides customers with a consistent way to authenticate and access
corporate resources." About Check Point's OPSEC OPSEC (Open
