Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the
worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that
Bank Leumi Switzerland, the international private banking center
for the Leumi Group, has deployed Check Point's Data Loss
Prevention (DLP) solution -- to secure sensitive data and address
critical compliance requirements, while simplifying IT management.
With a growing network of over 4,500 clients in over 80 countries,
the bank requires a strong DLP solution that ensures it meets and
exceeds government regulatory compliance standards and safeguards
confidential customer information, such as bank account numbers,
credit card data and Social Security numbers.
"A recent data leak at one of our competitors cost them several
million dollars in lost business and raised concerns about the
security of customer information within the banking industry," said
Daniel Brunner, head of information security, CISO at Bank Leumi
Switzerland. "With Check Point DLP, we added an additional layer of
protection to our communications policies, helping to ensure our
customers' information remains secure. We were able to deploy,
monitor, and identify questionable communications within
minutes."
The bank implemented the Check Point DLP Solution to proactively
prevent data loss and educate employees on the bank's
communications practices and policies. In addition, it required a
solution that would easily integrate with their existing security
requirements. By leveraging pre-defined policies that comply with
government financial regulations, the Check Point DLP solution was
easily installed and integrated into the bank's network within one
day. The Check Point DLP solution not only enables IT
administrators to prohibit sensitive information from being sent,
it also alerts and educates users when data is at risk --
significantly reducing the number of potential incidents.
"Human interaction can be the weakest link in any security
strategy," added Brunner. "The Check Point DLP solution provides us
with an additional line of defense that safeguards our most
valuable information, customer data, in the event of human
error."
"Our comprehensive DLP approach enables our customers to
actively prevent unintentional data loss with an effective solution
that combines advanced content detection with user awareness
technologies," said Juliette Sultan, head of global marketing at
Check Point Software Technologies. "Our solution goes above and
beyond just policies and enforcement, it actually involves and
educates the user on best practice policies, helping businesses
minimize the complexities associated with governance, risk and
compliance requirements."
Check Point offers several different options for deploying the
DLP solution depending on customer requirements. Customers can
choose from the Check Point DLP-1 appliance or the Check Point DLP
Software Blade that can be deployed on all Check Point security
gateways. More information on Check Point DLP can be found at:

"We looked at other DLP solutions, but ultimately decided on
Check Point because of its ease of deployment, feature set, and
intuitive management interface. It's an essential component of our
security puzzle," concluded Brunner.
The Check Point DLP solution can be purchased through the Check
Point worldwide network of value-added resellers. To find a Check
