Business Wire
Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX) announced today the global
release of the ServSwitch DTX (product code DTX5000). The DTX is a
next-generation ServSwitch KVM extender that eliminates the
distance limitations of traditional copper or fiber optic KVM
extenders. It extends multimedia server or CPU (stereo audio and
USB 2.0 peripherals), DVI-I video and keyboard and mouse signals
hundreds or even thousands of miles over an IP network to a
workstation with a DVI monitor, speakers and a USB or PS/2
keyboard and mouseor a mix of both. The ServSwitch DTX provides
complete hardware KVM extensionno software is needed. It displays
24-bit, 60-fps color video and supports resolutions up to 1280 x
1024. In addition, it also supports VGA for universal video
compatibility, plus it delivers CD-quality sound for robust audio
extension. For demanding multimedia applications, just connect the
DTX to either Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernetyoull have all the
bandwidth you need! As a next-generation KVM extender, the
ServSwitch DTX enables you to make three types of connections:
traditional, point-to-point copper extension up to 100 meters;
global extension over IP; and global extension over IP with USB
virtual media (VM) support! With USB VM, you can use the four USB
ports on the DTXs receiver unit to connect and access USB drives
and other peripherals. If you use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse with
the receiver, all four USB ports can be used for USB devices. All
USB peripherals will function as if they are attached directly to
the CPUand transfer media data at the maximum speed supported by
your network. You can even hot-plug USB devices without any affect
on the entire system. Black Boxs ServSwitch line makes it the
industry leader in server management. Whats more, the company has
combined its extensive range of server management solutions with
the expertise of its Tech Support to create ServSwitch Central. As
a dedicated resource for KVM switches and services, ServSwitch
Central offers a FREE 24/7/365 Tech Support hotline, network
planning and design, nationwide installation services,
post-installation maintenance programs and more. To find out more
