ARRIS Announces Voice and Data Equipment Donation to Georgia Institute of Technology SUWANEE, Ga., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) today announced that it has donated a complete DOCSIS(R) 2.0-certified next generation voice and high speed data solution to the Georgia Centers for Advanced Telecommunications Technology (GCATT) for use in the Georgia Tech Broadband Institute (GTBI). The donation consists of a DOCSIS 2.0-qualified ARRIS Cadant(R) C3(TM) Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS), DOCSIS 2.0-certified ARRIS Touchstone(TM) 402P Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTAs) and Touchstone 450 Cable Modems. When configured, faculty and student members of the Broadband Institute will be able to conduct a variety of projects with the equipment, the first of which will include peer-to-peer communications and Voice over Internet Protocol communications over a symmetrical DOCSIS link.
