1 GHz CORWave Variable Output Allows MSOs Greater Customization
SUWANEE, Ga., June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS)
today announced the availability of a variable output feature to
its 1 GHz CHP CORWave Forward Transmitter. The new feature is
unique to the market and allows output powers to be configured by
the customer via the GUI software, rather than pre-ordered from the
factory. This provides MSOs with maximum flexibility when
finalizing link budgets within their network architectures, and
saves on sparing costs. CORWave is an extension of ARRIS
broadly-deployed, field proven multi-wavelength optics solutions
that deliver more capacity over longer-link distances on existing
fiber. Additionally, ARRIS has introduced a 1 GHz CORWave DXL (dual
input, full-bandwidth) forward transmitter that extends analog
linearization out to 870MHz. The CORWave DXL provides better
distortion performance, allowing operators using global channel
plans to add incremental bandwidth capacity on as few as one fiber,
and can be monitored by the CORView Element Management system.
"ARRIS has over a decade of experience in the design and deployment
of multi-wavelength systems and more than 15,000 CHP optical
multi-wavelength transmitters deployed," said Peter Wolff, SVP,
ARRIS Access, Transport and Supplies. "Our field-proven expertise
and the new features we continue to design, in conjunction with
customer feedback, enable us to provide an efficient, robust and
reliable solution for network service providers worldwide." About
