On May 5, 2009, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Amylin”) began a series of discussions with certain of its stockholders with respect to Amylin’s business strategy and its slate of nominees for election to the Board of Directors at Amylin’s 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.  A copy of the presentation to be used in connection with this series of discussions is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
