Lutheran Family and Children’s Services (LFCS), one of Missouri's oldest social service agencies, announced today a new service location and expansion of Behavioral Health services in Kansas City. The move solidifies LFCS’s position as a statewide leader in delivering essential services to children and families.

“Expanding our services in Kansas City is a huge occasion for our non-profit,” said Mike Duggar, LFCS's President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are transforming into a truly statewide organization."

Experienced Leadership for Growth

Recently promoted to Director of Regional Development, Trueman Orson will spearhead LFCS’s Kansas City expansion. Marilyn Calbert will also play a vital role as the new Regional Development Officer in Kansas City.

A New Home to Serve Clients

Following an extensive search, LFCS secured a permanent office at 1 East Armour Boulevard in Kansas City. This central location allows easy access by public transportation.

Meeting Kansas City’s Needs

LFCS is now offering a comprehensive suite of services, including:

  • Pregnancy Support.
  • Adoption Services.
  • Parenting Education.
  • Behavioral Health Services.

“We’re committed to tailoring our services to address specific needs of Kansas City children and families,” said Duggar. "We plan to focus on expanding access to programs for anxiety, depression, and trauma.”

LFCS continues to assemble a team of social workers and therapists. Recruitment is underway for a full-time therapist and birth parent worker.

LFCS has been helping families for over 155 years. The agency’s expansion in Kansas City represents a significant milestone.
