PITTSBURGH, May 13, 2024
/PRNewswire/ -- "As I entered my twenty-year long tenure as a labor
and delivery registered nurse, I often pondered if there was a way
of accounting and documenting my presence at a patient's bedside,
primarily during an emergency," said an inventor, from Rio
Rancho, N.M. "The idea of inventing the "Scan Care System"
came to mind. The advanced capabilities of this system would help
provide accountability in compliance with standard healthcare
facility policies and protocol to help improve all patient care
services."
The patent-pending invention provides a RFID tag and RFID
reader-based approach to document the presence and time each
healthcare professional spent in a patient's room or care area. In
doing so, it allows for automatic documentation of the exact time
each specific member of the healthcare team spent with the patient
in real time. It also ensures the data is collected and combined
with the patient's electronic medical record. The system would
provide automatic and accurate documentation of hourly rounding by
nursing stall and all physician visits. The invention features a
practical design that is ideal for all medical facilities.
The original design was submitted to the National sales office
of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale
to manufacturers or marketers. For more information, write Dept.
