The Battery Life industry-standard benchmark since 1991 makes battery life comparisons even more straightforward. Featuring a new battery estimator, where users can switch among 3 test modes to quickly predict battery life without performing a full run-down battery test.

BAPCo®, a non-profit consortium of leading PC hardware manufacturers, unveils MobileMark® 30 Professional, the latest release of the performance-indexed battery life benchmark for notebook PCs that run the most popular real-world applications.

Key features of MobileMark 30:

  • The new MobileMark 30 Professional contains the new quick battery estimator in addition to the official FDR run-down battery testing.
  • No longer any incomplete runs. Estimated results in a fraction of the total runtime.
  • The MobileMark 30 Index provides an easy-to-understand composite score that factors in both performance and battery life.
  • Expanded CLI (command line interface).
  • Enhanced MobileMark’s Brightness Profiler - an exclusive innovation in screen calibration utilities.
  • Updated versions of the world’s most commonly used applications without requiring additional installation or acquisition costs.
  • New workloads reflective of modern-day usage.
  • Part of BAPCo’s curated online result database suite.

Since the inception of MobileMark, accurately and objectively measuring battery life performance and responsiveness has been the benchmarks’ core value. In addition to reporting battery life, unique to MobileMark, the Index provides an easy-to-understand composite score that factors in both performance and battery life.

The new battery estimator allows users to switch among three battery charge test levels to quickly predict battery life without performing a full run-down battery test. This means there are no longer any incomplete runs. This dramatically accelerates testing before committing to an entire FDR run.

The enhanced Brightness Profiler, an innovation in screen calibration utilities only in MobileMark, makes screen calibration a breeze and assists in uniform and consistent image calibration across various screen types and technologies.

Using only unmodified retail versions of real-world applications for measurement, MobileMark 30 Professional features new and updated versions of Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop without costly separate purchases or lengthy installation time needed for individual installation. This ensures fair and accurate comparisons across multiple systems without worrying about test variations from different application versions.

The new module has been designed to focus on the activities of the modern mobile office user who seeks to remain productive while on the go. These activities include spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, PDFs, image manipulation, file compression, decompression with encryption and file launches. The Professional scenario is available today, additional future modules will expand the scope of MobileMark 30.

MobileMark 30 results can be submitted and are part of BAPCo’s curated online result database, where only peer-reviewed benchmark results are designated as published. This designation provides accuracy assurance publication claims and tender submissions by open public access to official FDRs (Full Disclosure Report).
