Analyzing Online Learning Behavior of Chinese College
Students
"The 2017 Report on Chinese College Students Online Learning
Behavior" was released in the forum by Jin
Naili, Vice President of iResearch Institute.
The report shows that online education is in a period of rapid
development that implies a logical growth in the number of users.
More than half of the online learners, aged 18-30 years, are male.
The population is mainly concentrated in first-tier and second-tier
cities, with a large proportion of them having a bachelor's degree
or above. In terms of learning needs, the demand for language and
vocational skills courses is the highest. The learning needs are
different at different stages. The needs of lower grades students
are more extensive. The higher grades attach more importance to
focused training and skills development; and in terms of drivers
and attitudes of learning, self-improvement is the biggest
motivation for learning. Top teacher's courses are an important
factor to attract online learners.
College students have a high degree of participation in both
online and offline courses. The big advantage of online education
is the non-limitation in time and space. Popularity of a course depends on
high-quality, tailored teaching, diversified learning styles and
academic certification. At the same time, due to a supervised, good
learning atmosphere and better interaction in the classroom,
students also choose offline courses.
Looking to the future, the Internet + Education will gradually mature to open the
online + offline integration mode and speed up the transformation
of traditional education.
The celebration of this forum has pointed out the direction for
the future development of education. XuetangX is willing to join
hands with colleagues in the education sector, continue to actively
explore new modes of education and teaching based on new
technologies, leading the new era of Internet + Education, on the path of creating the
world's leading platform for lifelong learning, to improve the
quality of education.
