GroveWare Technologies at the Final Stage of Acquiring Department
of Defense's Certification of Networthiness
TORONTO, Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GroveWare
Technologies Ltd. (OTCQB: GROV) has moved forward in the process of
acquiring the Department of Defense's Certification of
Networthiness (CoN) for its flagship application, MobiTask™ and
eXFORMA for use in US Army. MobiTask™ is Groveware flagship
software for mobile business process management (BPM) solution,
designed to help organizations from paper-based processes to a
wireless tablet. The Networthiness Certification program was
designed by the DOD to manage risks associated with implementing
Information Systems that use Information Technology infrastructures
within any of the DOD's agencies. CoN is given after an assessment
made based on security, reliability, supportability,
sustainability, and interoperability with the organization's
existing networks and IT infrastructure. The certificate is
required for all external software that is deployed on any of the
DOD's agencies including the U.S. Army.
GroveWare has been working with the U.S. Army to acquire DOD's
CoN as a stepping stone to obtaining the U.S. Army's Certification.
The process is necessary in order to move forward in an initiative
of the U.S. Army to implement MobiTask™ in the Military Police on a
reserve. This initiative will replace the current paper-based
reporting system with a tablet-based system that puts MobiTask in
the hands of MP in the field. The project is expected to be a major
overhaul of the reporting process in order to improve communication
between the office and the officers in the field, data integrity
and wasted time spent on duplicate data entry.
The Army MP has identified paper-based incident reporting as a
strain in the system. It is widely known that the reporting process
uses a significant amount of time in the officer's day that could
be better spent in the field. The duplicate data entry not only
wastes time and incurs clerical costs, but often the
officer-generated written reports are illegible, resulting in data
integrity issues, as well as legal dispute and reporting delays.
Many law enforcement organization are looking for a secure a
solution which would improve the data integrity, eliminate
duplicate processing time and expedite incident reporting to court
in real time. This is the pain that the U.S. Army brought to
Verizon Wireless who in turn brought in GroveWare as a solution
provider.
Verizon Wireless suggested GroveWare's MobiTask solution not
only because it will provide officer's with a simple interface for
entering data in the field, but also because the solution provides
workflow capabilities and integration with backend systems to
eliminate duplicate data entry in the field. This will be achieved
by replacing the current paper process with MobiTask, providing
each MP with the ability to complete and submit reports in
real-time from the field to existing CAD system. The administrative
personnel will be given access to the backend system in order to
approve and manage the submitted reports.
"We are excited to be working with US Army to help drive
efficiencies, reduce cost of operation and help the organization
move away from paper forms use to digital mobile forms," remarks
Hrair Achkarian, GroveWare's CEO,
"the process of getting Networthiness, is very important for
Groveware in order to become certified supplier to the Army. The
process requires close collaboration with the agency, we intend to
work closely with the Army to ensure highest standard of
compliance!" concludes Mr. Achkarian.
GroveWare is looking to complete the Certification of
Networthiness and Army Certification within the next few months in
order to move forward with the Military Police project forward.
There are 77 U.S. Army domestic reserves that can immediately adopt
the Military Police solution and this is only one of the business
units within the agency that has identified a use for MobiTask. A
combination of GroveWare's CoN and GSA Schedule will make MobiTask
simple and fast to procure as a Department of Defense agency which
includes the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, National
Guard, and U.S Coast Guard. GroveWare has been working with Verizon
Wireless to deliver Mobile solutions with Federal agencies, and the
Certification of Networthiness is completed, the partnership will
drastically increase its focus on agencies within the Department of
Defense.
