India's state-run National Aluminium Co. Ltd. (532234.BY) sold 30,000 metric tons alumina at $241.33/ton, free on board Vizag port, a senior company official said Friday.

The alumina was sold to Switzerland-based Glencore, the official, who did not wish to be quoted, said.

He said the tender received six bids.

In April, the company sold 30,000 tons of alumina at $227.64/ton to BHP Billiton (BHP.AU).

The sale price at Nalco's alumina tenders is usually seen as a price benchmark internationally.
