Tesoro Corp. (TSO) plans about 30 days of work at its Kenai, Alaska, refinery to begin in April, Chief Executive Bruce Smith said Friday.

The 72,000 barrel-a-day refinery will be completely shut during the maintenance, said Smith, speaking on a conference call with analysts following the release of the company's-fourth quarter earnings.

Tesoro doesn't have a heavy maintenance schedule for 2009. In addition to the work at the Kenai plant, Smith said the company planned second- and third-quarter work on hydrocrackers at the company's two California refineries, but gave few details on those projects.
