month. (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070124/CLW200
) Teenager Hults was a classmate of one of the abducted boys, Ben
Ownby. Hults spotted the vehicle fleeing the scene of the abduction
on January 8. He described the vehicle to police which led to the
freeing of Ownby and also Shawn Hornbeck who disappeared in 2002.
Following the detailed description, Michael Devlin, 41, was
arrested and has been charged with kidnapping. "As a "Good
Neighbor, Good Citizen," the Chrysler Group takes pride in being a
member of the St. Louis Community," said Chuck Kowalski, Chrysler
Group Plant Manager - St. Louis North. "We have made a commitment
that wherever our company operates, we will build partnerships that
promote economic growth, build stronger, more vital communities and
enrich the lives of others, such as the Hults family." Wayne
Cunningham of Southtown Dodge, located at 7127 Lindburgh in St.
Louis provided the vehicle for the donation. The Dodge Ram was
chosen for the donation because of its appeal to street-smart
consumers and its reputation for toughness and durability --
attributes clearly shared by Hults. "We believe it's important to
pitch in and help people in the communities where we live and
work," said Cunningham. "That's why we're proud to celebrate
Mitchell Hults - a true everyday hero who courageously helped bring
two boys to safety and also help two families start the healing
process." Chrysler Group has a history of working with the St.
Louis community. In the past five years, the DaimlerChrysler
Corporation Fund has contributed more than $1 million to charitable
organizations in the greater St. Louis community, including the
United Way of Greater St. Louis, Boys Town of Missouri, Make a Wish
Foundation and Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Chrysler Group has
two manufacturing facilities that are both located in Fenton, Mo.
The St. Louis South plant is home to the Chrysler Town Country and
Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan minivans. The Dodge Ram (1500 and
2500) Standard and Quad Cab Pickup are built at St. Louis North.
The 2.29 million square-foot St. Louis North Plant was constructed
in 1966. The plant employs 2,146 people.
