INDIANAPOLIS, June 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Jason M. Baker Scholarship Committee, in partnership with Irwin Mortgage Corporation, announced that the annual Heroes Tour motorcycle ride will be held Saturday, June 10. The public is invited to attend. The 2006 Heroes Tour will consist of an escorted 100-mile motorcycle ride through Marion, Johnson, Morgan and Hendricks counties, with more than 200 riders departing from the Icehouse Restaurant & Pub, 2352 S. West St., Indianapolis, at 10:30 a.m. The route will pass through Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, with brief ceremonial stops at that site's Heroes of Public Safety Memorial and the Field of Valor. Along the route, there will be additional stops at other public safety memorials. Other features of this event will include live music, lunch and drinks at the Icehouse, and door prizes. The 2006 Heroes Tour honors the men and women of law enforcement, fire/rescue/EMT and the military who have given their lives in service to Indiana and the United States. All proceeds will benefit the Jason M. Baker Public Safety Scholarship Fund, which annually presents a four-year higher education scholarship to a graduating Indiana high school senior who will pursue a public safety career. Motorcycle enthusiasts who wish to join the 2006 Heroes Tour may register at the Icehouse Restaurant & Pub from 8 to 10 a.m. on the day of the event.
