              Vocalis Group plc announces agreement with Novell               


Vocalis Group plc ("Vocalis"), the international speech technology group, and
Novell, Inc., the leading provider of Net services software, today announced
an agreement to add telephone access to Novell GroupWise email through Vocalis
SpeechMail. Enhancing Novell's powerful knowledge platform, this alliance will
provide easy voice access to the Novell GroupWise business communication
backbone.  Over 300 Novell GroupWise corporate customers will participate in
this pilot program.

success in the twenty-first century, and compliments the impressive suite of
intranet and Internet services offered by GroupWise," added Leif Pedersen,

access to Net services software like GroupWise is an important aspect of

Vocalis SpeechMail enables a user to manage email by telephone using a
combination of advanced speech recognition, and text-to-speech technologies. 
Using spoken commands, the user can send, retrieve and delete email without a
computer or direct Internet access.  Over 50 leading international Internet
Service Providers currently use Vocalis SpeechMail, including BT Internet,
Cable & Wireless, and UUNET.
