    Unilever Director Dr Iain Anderson Announces Retirement

Dr Iain Anderson, Unilever's strategy and technology director,
has announced his decision to retire from Unilever on June 30
1998.

Dr Anderson (59) joined Unilever in 1965, working initially in
research & development and technical management.  He
subsequently served as chairman for several Unilever companies
in agribusiness, speciality chemicals and foods before
becoming a director in 1988.
