TAYLOR WOODROW SELLS GREENHAM CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS FOR #30 MILLION


Taylor Woodrow plc today announces that it has concluded the sale of its
wholly-owned subsidiary, Greenham Construction Materials Ltd, to Robert Brett
& Sons Ltd for approximately #29.6 million cash. 

Keith Egerton, Taylor Woodrow's chief executive said, "Last October we
announced that, due to our increasing focus on housing and property, Greenham
Construction Materials was no longer a core business and that it would be
sold.

"We are delighted that the sale has been concluded in the timeframe outlined
and that we have secured a full and fair price for the business. We will
invest the sale proceeds into growth opportunities in our core businesses,
thereby continuing to increase the focus of the Group."

Greenham Construction Materials' business includes the manufacture of concrete
paving, and the extraction, sale, distribution and merchanting of sand and
gravel together with the landfilling of waste. The business has net assets of
#12.8 million and made profits attributable, before exceptional items, of #2.6
million in 1999.
