        Redemption of 10 1/2 per cent First Mortgage Debenture Stock

The Board of London Park Hotels Plc announces that it has resolved to redeem at
par the whole of its 10 1/2 per cent First Mortgage Debenture Stock 2000/05,
(the "Stock") on 31 December 2000.

A notice of redemption will be sent to Stockholders on 26 September 2000. The
register of Stockholders will be closed on 8 December 2000.

London Park Hotels Plc intends to apply to the UK Listing Authority and the
London Stock Exchange plc for the cancellation of both the official listing and
the admission to trading of the Stock with effect from 2 January 2001.

London Park Hotels Plc is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thistle Hotels Plc.
