                    The Trading Exchange plc (the "Company")                    
                                                                       

                                Corporate Update

 

Following recent press speculation and share price movement, the Board of the
Company confirms that it is in discussions with a third party that may or may
not lead to an acquisition that would constitute a reverse takeover (pursuant to
paragraph 13 of the AIM Rules). Accordingly trading on AIM in the Company's
shares has been suspended. These discussions are at an early stage and a further
announcement will be made in due course.

The Board also confirms that, further to the announcement of 22 November 2004
regarding its ongoing strategic review, it is progressing discussions regarding
the divestment or merger of the existing exchange business. Again, these
discussions are at an early stage and a further announcement will be made in due
course.
