("Sportsworld" or "the Company") Sportsworld is pleased to announce that, at the
extraordinary general meeting of the Company held earlier today, shareholders
passed the resolution put to them.  Accordingly, it is expected that the
acquisition of a 51 per cent. interest in Stuart Sawyer (Marketing) Limited and
a cash placing of approximately 5 per cent. of the Company's issued share
capital, both announced on 16 April 1999, will be completed tomorrow.  It is
expected that the shares to be issued in connection with the acquisition and the
cash placing will be admitted to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange
