SPORTSWORLD MEDIA GROUP PLC ("Sportsworld" or "the Company")

Sportsworld announces that, on 27 January 1999, Sovereign Trust International
Limited, as trustee for the Chapman Superannuation Fund, of which Jeff
Chapman, Chairman of the Company, is a beneficiary, sold 2,000,000 ordinary
shares in the Company at a price of 73 pence per share in order, inter alia,
to satisfy institutional demand for Sportsworld shares and increase the free
float of the Company. The Chapman Superannuation Fund retains 20,313,347
ordinary shares, representing 59.6 per cent. of the Company's issued share
capital.
