AGM Statement

At the William Sinclair AGM to be held today at 11.00am at the Bentley Hotel, Newark Road, South Hykeham, Lincoln, LN6 9NH, the Chairman, Bill Simpson, will make the following statement:

"Trading to date has been in line with the Company's internal forecasts with the customer order book as expected at this time of year. Deliveries to customers are beginning to ramp up as preparation for the important spring growing season gets underway.

"As outlined in the Company's preliminary results statement on 3 January 2013, the price of peat based products has increased due to the scarcity of peat throughout both the professional and retail sectors.

"William Sinclair has sufficient levels of peat stock to meet expected demand and the manufacture of SuperFyba, the industry's leading peat-free product, is steadily increasing.

"Some operations have already commenced at our new flag ship site at Ellesmere Port and we will continue to expand activity there to deliver our planned, significant efficiency gains.

"Freeland Horticulture, the Group's specialist soils division, continues to perform well and has recently won a further contract at the Olympic site which is being returned to parkland and gardens."
