BOARD APPOINTMENT

The Company announces that Ken Piggott will join the Board as a Non-Executive
Director with effect from 1 May 2006. He will become a member of the Audit and
Remuneration Committees.

Ken (age 57) is currently Non-Executive Director of United Carpets Group plc and
Non-Executive Chairman of Optical Partners plc. He was previously Managing
Director of Boots the Chemists Limited, Halfords Limited and Do It All Limited.

Commenting on the appointment, Bill Simpson, Chairman, said: "This appointment
completes the restructuring of the Board. We very much look forward to working
with Ken and believe his experience will be invaluable."

There is no further information to be disclosed in relation to this appointment
under paragraph 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules.
