RENN UNIVERSAL GROWTH INVESTMENT TRUST PLC (the "Company")

The Company has today been notified that Mr Steven Bates, a non-executive
Director of RENN Universal Growth Investment Trust PLC, has sold 3,125 Ordinary
shares at the Tender Price of 297.0036 pence per share as part of the Company's
recent Tender Offer.

Following this transaction, Mr Bates is now interested in a total of 9,375
Ordinary shares of the Company (representing 0.07% of the total voting rights).
