                  Trading Update for the First Quarter 2001



RTL Group notes the results announcement for the first quarter of 2001 (three
months ending 31 March 2001) released today by Groupe Bruxelles Lambert
("GBL").  GBL's results include, on a consolidated basis, estimated results
for RTL Group for the first quarter prepared under International Accounting
Standards. These estimated results have been derived from the unaudited
management accounts of RTL Group.

RTL Group continues to see the financial outlook for 2001 as a whole in line
with the guidance given with RTL Group's results for the year ended 31
December 2000 in March 2001. The performance so far this year has been
consistent with that guidance.
